HIGHWAY BASENTANA 407 VIADUCTS GIANNI
MECCA AND CORONATI
As for Safety measures to be adopted for the viaducts Gianni (Ch. 13 + 275 - 8 spans of 30m each, prestressed concrete beams), Mecca (Ch. 13 + 763 - 4 spans of 33 m each, prestressed concrete beams) and Coronati (Ch. 14 + 762 - 9 spans of 31 m each, prestressed concrete beams) along the SS. 407 “Basentana” road alignment. The planned interventions consist mainly of structural restoration of the bridge decks because of aging and deterioration of the beams in some spans of the cited viaducts. The Repairs interventions has concerned some structural elements (bridge deck without altering substructures):
• Replacing the edge kerb of the bridge and rehabilitation of swings;
• Elimination of the double joint on the bridge pier and construction of a new cantilevered joint relatively to the pier axis;
• External prestressing of the existing beams.
